Why is the Mustard Red?

English mustard is yellow, French mustard is a brownish colour and as the definitive answer to English and French mustard we felt our Welsh mustard should stand out. Red is the colour of the Welsh rugby jersey, so what better colour to promote welsh mustard.

What makes the Mustard Red?

We use red wine vinegar in our mustard which gives it most of its red colour but we also add a small amount of red food colouring (E124) to bring out the boldness of the red and give it the vibrant colour you can see in the jar.
